Several directories and maintenance checks are available to help you evaluate and troubleshoot problems and maintain Solaris-based systems.

| System parameters—tracks system parameters for Solaris. | /etc/system |
| IMPAX executables—includes IMPAX binaries and service executables such as MVF_AUTOPILOT, scripts, tools, and so on. | /usr/mvf/bin |
| System messages—stores messages generated by IMPAX | /var/adm/messages |
| IMPAX installation logs—track the activity during installation of IMPAX. | /var/sadm/install |
| The directory to run the start and stop commands for the MVF processes. | /etc/init.d |
| The directory that contains backup information and location for IMPAX functions, including the dbbackup.cfg file. | /usr/mvf/etc |
| The directory that contains the saved SQL queries (if configured in CLUI) and the mvf server licenses. | /usr/mvf |
