This procedure applies to SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008.
After you back up the databases, verify that the database was backed up correctly.
To verify that the SQL database was backed up correctly
Open the SQL Server Management Studio.
In the Object Explorer window of the Management Studio, expand server > Databases > database
where server is the name of the SQL Server that the program is running under and database is the name of the database you want to verify is correctly backed up.
Right-click database and select Tasks > Backup.
Switch to the Options tab.
Select Verify backup upon completion.
