Key Image Notes provide a visual summary of specific information related to a study's key images, directing attention toward a specific clinical observation. In IMPAX 6.5.1, the DICOM Object Creator process creates and registers KOSD DICOM objects. KOSD DICOM objects are created for migrated studies only when they are exported from the system through transmit, PACS Store and Remember archiving, or CD-Export.
In IMPAX 6.5.1, Key Image Notes offer the following benefits:
A user can mark key images based on categories. For example, key images can be added to a particular document title such as For Report Attachment, For Surgery, For Teaching, and so on.
A new KOSD DICOM object is created and is associated with the Key Image Note so that key information can be propagated to other systems.
Existing third-party KOSD DICOM objects are automatically registered in the system soon after migrating to IMPAX 6.5.1.
Incoming KOSD DICOM objects are automatically registered into database tables so that their key information is available to the client.

If the job responsible for either creating or registering the KOSD DICOM object fails for any reason (for example, a KOSD object received from a third-party system is not DICOM-compliant), any KOSD objects that are created for that study and then subsequently marked for deletion are removed from the Image area and are no longer visible to the user. However, because of the failed job, Autopilot Manager, which controls the timing of image deletion from cache, considers the job outstanding and the invisible objects are not deleted. If the study is then transmitted to another IMPAX system, the invisible objects are transmitted as well, resulting in a discrepancy in the number of objects between the two systems, and causing the invisible objects to be visible on the system the study was transmitted to. |
