Same Size scaling is applied automatically to all CRM views when breast images are displayed. This mode scales current and prior images to the same relative physical size, making it easier to assess changes in feature size between views.
Same Size scaling is always active for MG studies. It cannot be removed by the Undo or the Pan/Zoom Reset tools. All images from the current study (and if paddle size or pixel spacing differs between current and prior studies images from prior studies) are sent through an algorithm so all images will be displayed at the same physical size. The calculated size is then applied to the images in the prior study with the following exceptions:
Mixed modality studies can still be displayed normally; only MG images that contain an imager_pixel_spacing attribute are scaled.
Scanned reports, stereotactic images, magnified views, and any image smaller than the 1000 rows x 1000 columns that are part of mammography studies are not scaled and have no impact on Same Size scaling of breast images.
Note the following about same size scaling:
Grayscale Softcopy Presentation States (GSPS) define how referenced images are presented during display. Same Size scaling does not alter the intended presentation state defined by a GSPS.
While all images display at the same physical size, they may not appear at true life physical size. Same Size scaling is not a true size display mode.
