IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Administering IMPAX > Defining study text and priors > Defining relevancy rules for opening priors
The following relevancy rules options determine which priors are relevant for comparison with the current study. PACS Administrators define relevancy rules for users and roles in the Configure area - Preferences section.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| User ID | This option is not editable. It indicates which role or user the rule is defined for. |
| Modality | Select a modality type or select Any Modality for the rule to apply to. For example, apply this rule to all CR studies. |
| Speciality | Select a specialty or select Any Speciality for the rule to apply to. For example, apply this rule to all Neuro studies. |
| Same Modality | Select this checkbox so that only prior studies of the same modality type as the scheduled study are considered relevant. |
| Same Speciality | Select this checkbox so that only prior studies of the same specialty as the scheduled study are considered relevant. |
| Oldest Relevant | Select this checkbox so that the oldest prior study that matches the defined relevant prior rule is retrieved. |
| Key Images Only | This option is not currently supported. |
| Has Key Images | This option is not currently supported. |
| Maximum Studies | Type or select the maximum number of prior studies that can be retrieved as relevant. |
| Maximum Days | Type or select how old, in days, the prior study can be to be considered relevant. |
Example rules
| User ID | Modality | Specialty | Same Modality | Same Specialty | Oldest Relevant | Key Images Only | Has Key Images | Max Studies | Max Days | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Radiology | MR | Neuro | X | X | X | x | 5 | 365 | |
| 2 | Radiology | CR | Any Specialty | X | X | 3 | 180 |
The first rule is created for the Radiology role. It states that for new MR studies in the Neuro specialty, consider any studies from the same modality (MR), in the same specialty (Neuro) relevant. Retrieve the oldest prior study that matches this criteria. As well, exclude studies that do not have key images, even if they match the other criteria. The maximum number of relevant prior studies that should be retrieved is five. Studies can be a maximum of 365 days old.
The second rule is also created for the Radiology role and retrieves relevant priors for CR studies from any speciality. Only prior CR studies should be considered relevant, and the oldest prior study that meets this criteria should be retrieved. The maximum number of relevant priors to be retrieved is three. Studies can be up to 180 days old.
