When operating a TalkStation-IMPAX integrated system, there are several recommended configuration points on both TalkStation and on IMPAX to make the integrated system perform optimally.
On TalkStation
Enable the TalkStation skin > Reading Room option on the User Preferences Dictation tab.
With this option enabled, the TalkStation Dictation window color scheme is more suitable for the typical reading room environment.
Disable the Save the current report? prompt.
When this prompt appears, select the checkbox to not see the prompt again, and select Yes. It can be re-enabled later, if required, using the User Preferences Prompt Manager tab.
Enable the Dictation window and Always return to startup preference options on the User Preferences Dictation tab.
On the User Preferences Dictation tab, for Startup preference, select Dictation window and select the Always return to startup preference checkbox. If TalkStation does not return to the main Dictation window, IMPAX cannot synchronize with TalkStation upon a Start Dictation action.
Enable the automatic creation of temporary orders.
If this option is not enabled, it leads to a situation where if the radiologist begins reviewing images for an order that has not been completed on the RIS, when the radiologist attempts to begin dictation a prompt is displayed because TalkStation cannot allow dictation on incomplete orders. Select this option to prevent the prompt.
These options exist on the System Preferences Workflow tab (Allow automatic creation of temporary orders) and the User Preferences Workflow tab (Automatically create temporary orders). Select both options.
Enable the Do not verify password when integrated option on the System Preferences Security tab.
With this option enabled, users do not have to keep their IMPAX and TalkStation passwords synchronized. Without this option enabled, when a user was forced to change his or her password in IMPAX, he or she would also have to change it in TalkStation for the integrated system to work properly. The Do not verify password when integrated option prevents this situation.
Install and register the TalkStation license.
You must license TalkStation directly after installation. If the license is not installed and registered, TalkStation does not behave as expected in a TalkStation-IMPAX integrated environment.
On IMPAX
Verify that the IMPAX and TalkStation user names and passwords are the same.
Configure user settings:
Log in to IMPAX as an administrator.
Open the Configure drawer menu and select Preferences.
In the left window, navigate to the user profile.
Click the Text Area window to expand.
Verify that the TalkStation radio button is selected.
Select a configuration for Synchronization options.
Select a configuration for TalkStation display options.
Log out of IMPAX.
Configure active worklist:
Log in to IMPAX as a user.
Open a study and display its images.
In the image window, press F12 to open the User Configuration menu.
From the User Profile tab, select the Workflow tab.
Verify that the Enable Active Worklist option is selected.
Click OK.
If using the Instant Messaging functionality, move the Chat dialog to the Image area. If you do not, depending on the size and location of the TalkStation window, the Chat dialog might be hidden by the TalkStation window.
