Micro Calcification Enhancement (MCE) provides supplemental automated image processing, integrated in the NX CR workstation.
For mammography images identified with an exposure type requesting Musica MCE, an extra copy of the images with enhanced micro calcifications is sent to the PACS. Two instances of the image are available on the IMPAX Client: the original image and the MCE enhanced image.

Musica MCE offers improved image processing, which can help to draw attention to potential micro calcifications in the diagnosis and screening of mammography images.
In IMPAX, Musica MCE images are treated as "retakes" of images. The Musica images are stacked behind the original image and, using the mouse wheel, the radiologist can toggle between the diagnostic and Musica MCE image when in Comparative Review Mode.
