IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Administering IMPAX > Managing licenses
The following table describes when licenses are released based on different user actions.
| Action | Licenses |
|---|---|
| When a user logs out of the IMPAX Client | All checked out licenses are released. |
| When a user shuts down the station | If the user does not log out of IMPAX Client first, the license is freed when the ticket expires (up to 15 minutes). |
| When the station goes into hibernation mode | Licenses are not released until ticket renewal or the user logs out of the IMPAX Client. |
| When the screen-saver mode is activated | Licenses are not released until ticket renewal or the user logs out of the IMPAX Client. |
| When the user locks the station | Licenses are not released until ticket renewal or the user logs out of the IMPAX Client. |
| When the station is put in stand-by mode | Licenses are not released until ticket renewal or the user logs out of the IMPAX Client. |
When the ticket is renewed, the license is released and reacquired. If IMPAX cannot get the license originally acquired, the Application Server gives the user the next available license. When the user logs out of the Client, the license is returned to the license pool. If the Client crashes, the license is consumed until the ticket expires (up to 15 minutes).
