Details
When defining the default screen layouts, the default modality type is based on the study you are currently viewing. In some cases the modality type of the study you are viewing is not always apparent or expected. You may think you are viewing a CR study but it is actually a CROT study (mixed modality study). If you do not check the default modality when changing the default screen layouts, you may create a new layout instead of updating the expected one. This will give you inconsistent screen layout results.
For example, you view a study that you think is a CR study and you decide to change the default screen layout for CR studies. However, you are actually viewing a CROT study and instead of changing the default screen layouts for CRs, you create a new default screen layout for CROT. Therefore, when you view a subsequent CR study, the default screen layout looks like it is inconsistently applied for CR studies.
