IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Administering IMPAX > Configuring worklists > Grouping studies based on a defined priority
Using priority grouping rules, you can configure the priority of studies based on demographic data other than Priority ID. For example, you can create a rule called ER to group studies for patients currently located in the ER together in the worklists.
One priority grouping rule is created by default. The STAT rule groups all high-priority studies.
Priority grouping rules are defined for worklists and group the studies in the worklist based on study criteria. The groupings are identified by defined foreground and background colors in the worklist, with a corresponding total for each grouping in the worklist bar.
The priority grouping rules are based on a hierarchy defined for each worklist. Studies are assigned to a grouping based on the criteria and where the grouping rule falls in the hierarchy. For example, you have defined a worklist with three priority grouping rules:
STAT
ICU
Female CTs
If a STAT! study for a patient located in the ICU is added to the worklist, it matches two priority grouping rules: STAT and ICU. The study is placed in the STAT priority grouping rule as it has a higher precedence than the ICU rule.
