Recommended NetScaler settings for a load-balanced environment

To ensure that messages are not lost, we recommend increasing the timeout period to be greater than the messaging timeout period.

Change the timeout for the ImpaxApps port 80 virtual address to be 60 minutes

Increase the flow timeout multiplier on the port 80 load balancer virtual address to 450 assuming the flow-timeout default is 8 seconds. This provides a timeout equivalent to the hard timeout on the messaging pipeline and ensures that the load balancer does not timeout the messaging connection too quickly.

Note:

Note:

Changing the timeout for the ImpaxApps port80 does not impact the web services which go through the port 443 load balanced address.

Adjust the flow timeout for the ImpaxApps port 443 virtual address to 160 seconds

We also recommend increasing the flow-timeout-multiplier on the port 443 virtual address to 10, assuming the 443 timeout default is 16 seconds. This would provides a timeout of 160 seconds, which is 40 seconds more than the IIS timeout (120 seconds).
