The IMPAX 6.5 Application Server platform is either Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008. Note that on the Application Server, Windows 2008 is supported for fresh installations only.
All Application Servers in a cluster must use the same Operating System—either Windows 2003 or Windows 2008.
When leveraging new hardware, user data can be migrated from the ADAM database on a Windows 2003 Application Server to an AD LDS database on a new Application Server running Windows 2008. Note that migrations from ADAM to AD LDS are supported when both the Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 Application Servers belong to either a domain or a workgroup.
The Application Server supports the IMPAX Results Viewer. IMPAX Results Viewer, a browser-based application used by a physician or healthcare professional to access medical images and other evidence documents to provide care to patients, is provided as a core component of IMPAXIMPAX6.5. Fundamental IMPAX features and tools such as search, displaying reports, and basic transformation of study images are available in IMPAX Results Viewer.
The Application Server includes support for textual DICOM SR objects generated by the Connectivity Manager.
Windows firewalls are used to block unwanted network traffic.
