Configuring the Application Server: Getting started

You must configure the software in the order listed in this topic. For more information on installing the Application Server software, refer to the IMPAX 6.5.1 Application Server Installation, Upgrade, and Configuration Guide.

If your site will be installing a load balancer in the cluster, or are installing an additional Application Servers, refer to the IMPAX 6.5 Application Server Installation, Upgrade, and Configuration Guide and also Load balancing: Distributing data requests over multiple Application Servers.

To configure the Application Server

  1. Establish SSL communication on an Application Server.

  2. Install and activate the license.

  3. Create the administration account.

  4. Configure the connection to the ADAM/AD LDS server.

  5. Generate the password file from the database server.

  6. Import the password file.

  7. Set the logging levels for applications, web services, and Windows services.

  8. To reduce the size of the files being transferred between the Clients and the Application Server, compress the web services.

  9. If using an IMPAX RIS to include additional patient information in the Client from the IMPAX RIS, connect to the RIS database.

  10. Configure the image upload server.

  11. Connect to the server where auditing information is tracked.

  12. Enable the creation of a local copy of the auditing data.

  13. Configure the database connections.

  14. Extend the database schema.
