Routing images through the load balancer

Bypass the Application Server and route requests for images through a load balancer. Use the Image Access settings in the Configure area - Stations section of the IMPAX Client to specify the load balancer. By creating storage groups of image servers, you can define where stations look for images by telling IMPAX what hardware and computer the program should retrieve images from.

The image servers, or AE titles, are called image storage points. You can combine multiple storage points into a single storage group. For example, if you have three storage points—CACHE1, CACHE2, and CACHE3—you can combine all of them into one storage group called Radimage. Then, you can have all access to that storage group flow through a load balancer and directly to the cache. Storage points are identified in the Administration Tools using the Cache Manager.

For information on configuring the Client to bypass the Application Server when viewing images, refer to "Configuring access to images using storage groups" (topic number 9398) in the IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended.
