Verifying that each ADAM/AD LDS instance is connected to all other ADAM/AD LDS instances

For ADAM/AD LDS replication to work, each ADAM/AD LDS instance must be connected to all other ADAM/AD LDS instances in the cluster.

To verify that each ADAM/AD LDS instance is connected to all other ADAM/AD LDS instances

  1. Log into the Windows 2003/2008 server you are using for replication.

  2. On Windows 2003, open the ADAM ADSI editor by selecting Start > All Programs > ADAM > ADAM ADSI Edit.

    or

On Windows 2008, open the ADSI editor by selecting Start > Administrative Tools > ADSI Edit.

  3. Navigate to CN=Configuration,CN=Sites,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Servers and ensure that all of the site's Application Servers are listed.

  4. For each Application Server in the cluster, navigate to CN=NTDS Settings and ensure that N - 1 entries appear, where N is the total number of Application Servers in the cluster.

If N - 1 entries are listed under CN=NTDS Settings, the Application Server is connected to all other ADAM instances in the cluster.
